A Brief History of Elk Creek
Since its inception, Elk Creek has met in many locations seeing both tremendous growth and daunting growth pains. But, God has continued to keep His hand on our church.
Elk Creek celebrated it’s Grand Opening on Easter Sunday, April 23, 2000. By June 2, 2002 the membership had voted for incorporation. Shortly thereafter, Elk Creek saw tremendous blessings.
Between October 1 to February 13, 2000 the exploding congregation outgrew the facilities of Gateway Youth and Family Services in the Bailey Business Center.
By July 2001, we moved from Deer Creek Elementary School to Platte Canyon High School.
On January 25, 2004, we held our first service at Beaver Ranch in Conifer, and inaugurated our 1st Saturday service on February 14, 2004.
In that same year we celebrated our five year birthday and assumed budget responsibility away from our supporting association - a major accomplishment.
By February 2006 we raised the "Next Level" funds to hire our second full time staff person - Associate Pastor of Maturity. We relocated to West Jefferson Elementary School on June 4th, 2006.
We left the school that next year, and June 10, 2007 we had our first, full-time evening worship service at Conifer Community Church.
